The master's degree "Expertise in Public Affairs / Public Business Law" is part of the "Public Careers" major and aims to train students to become executives in public management with a specialty, in this case, public law. It is a training program jointly run by the University of Bordeaux and Sciences Po Bordeaux, and that leads to the award of a double Expertise in Public Affairs / Public Business Law diploma: Expertise in Public Affairs / Public Business Law.

 

Objectives

The dual Expertise in public affairs / Public business law degree course is intended to provide the labor market with legal practitioners graduated from Sciences Po Bordeaux and with dual skills, specialized in matters relating to administrative contracts and public-private partnerships, public management and, more broadly, public action in the economy, and likely to apply for high responsibility job positions in companies in business relations with public administrations, law or consultancy firms, local administrations and authorities.

The course takes place over two years:

- The first year takes place mainly at Sciences Po Bordeaux;

- The second year takes place mainly at the Faculty of Law and Political Science of the University of Bordeaux;

Classes in the second year are conducted every other week, the other week is dedicated to internships. Students must perform a long internship (minimum three months) at the end of the second year.

The double diploma Expertise in Public Affairs / Public Business Law is open to apprenticeship (in the second year).

Sciences Po Bordeaux Diploma : First year

Target group

  • Sciences Po Bordeaux students who have completed the first cycle of the diploma ;
  • Students holding a Bachelor's degree in Law, Political Science, Public Administration or AES (Economic and Social Administration) after selection;

The selection is made based on the admission tests for the fourth year at Sciences Po Bordeaux. Eligibility is based on the assessment of the professional project file and leads to a written test on a thematic document, a test in 2 Foreign Languages (English is compulsory and another language to be chosen from an established list). The admission test consists of an oral interview before a jury composed of representatives of the Institute of Political Studies and the University of Bordeaux.
