The purpose of the class is to provide students with the necessary tools to understand French administrative law. Following an introduction describing the contours of the administration, its function and what administrative law is, the first semester will focus on the principle of legality. Within this framework, the sources of administrative legality are considered: constitutional norms, supra-national norms, laws and regulations, and finally the role of case law in the administrative legal system.
Must have prior training in constitutional law and knowledge of administrative institutions.
The number of ECTS credits and the assessment methods are likely to be different for students in credit exchange programmes.
