Ethics and code of conduct in public life

Presentation

The aim here is to examine the conditions of and evolutions in deontological and ethical evaluation in public life in France and beyond. The goal is also to show that current standards are merely the result of battles fought in the past and that certain notions that seem obvious, or on the contrary scandalous today could be judged quite differently until recently.

Recommended Prerequisite(s)

A good knowledge of French political and administrative history, and some knowledge in philosophy.

Form of assessment

The number of ECTS credits and the assessment methods are likely to be different for students in credit exchange programmes.
