Presentation of the concept of internal security (national and intra-European) and the associated principles of crisis management, considered in the context of current threats. The class is divided into three modules: historical approaches (general introduction), internal security (IS) today (implementation of IS policies, police cooperation, and European IS strategy, fight against terrorism, IS and armies) and finally, the IS actors (police, gendarmerie, fire brigade, customs, penitentiary system, armies) and crisis management.
Students are expected to have at least basic knowledge of France’s administrative organization.

Module 2: Presentations by external speakers
Module 3: Lecture followed by practical classes, or even a simulation exercise based on a reference scenario (technological accident, major event).
